21 September 2020

The long-awaited launch of Stroud’s award-winning “The Artisan Baker” takes place this week at the town’s Five Valleys Market.

Ori Hellerstein is the latest talented trader joining the growing number of local food producers at the “Borough Market” style market which is part of the major transformation of the centre.

And his fabulous new bakery and store will be unveiled on Thursday (September 24th) stocking delicious organic, high quality breads from all corners of the world.

Ori’s delicious organic breads, savouries and cakes are all freshly baked and he has built up a wide following at the weekly Stroud’s Farmers’ Market.

He has now transformed the largest unit at the Five Valleys market into a new professional kitchen and shop which will open to customers on Thursday.

Ori said: “Everyone has worked so hard to get the shop and kitchen ready for our customers and we can’t wait for our customers to see the finished look – and of course taste our products.

“We’re excited to be growing our businesses here as part of the Five Valleys market alongside so many other great local businesses.”

Ori has built up a great reputation in the area for products including The Nelson Loaf (a South African seed bread named after Nelson Mandela) as well as sourdough, walnut bread and Jerusalem bagels.

Once the bakery opens this week other traders joining the line up in the coming weeks include The Lily Pad Florist, Waghornes Butchers and Pershores Fishmongers.

Centre manager at Five Valleys Dionne Moore said: “The Market is really coming together now and its lovely to hear the great feedback from our shoppers and to see it buzzing with activity.

“We are just delighted to have Ori and his team joining us – the shop looks amazing and we wish them all the very best with the opening this week.”
