Master Cobbler steps up in new Five Valley’s location

26 September 2019

Stroud’s popular Master Cobbler store has relocated to a new unit at the town’s Five Valleys Shopping Centre where the business had operated from for the last 16 years.

The family run company, which has been in Stroud for more than 30 years, has now moved from its unit in the mall area to a slightly smaller space next to Santander at the shopping centre.

The move is part of the major refurbishment and programme of improvements currently underway at Five Valleys by the centre’s owner Dransfield Properties Ltd.

The third phase of the centre’s development work is focussed on the mall area as well as major improvements to exterior of the car park.

The second phase of works has transformed the King Street area at Five Valleys with a brand-new frontage and new retail space and a striking entrance feature. JoJo Maman Bebe was the first new store to move into this part of the centre earlier this month.

The Master Cobbler has now also moved to the new unit – offering the same great level of customer service from Paul Malpass and his team. As well as shoe repairs the store offers an engraving service, key cutting and travel goods.

Paul said: “We are delighted with our new location at Five Valleys and to be continuing to offer our great range of service to the people of Stroud. The centre’s transformation is really starting to take shape and the King Street entrance looks fantastic, we’re excited to be part of this great project for the town.”

Dionne Moore, centre manager at Five Valleys in Stroud, said: “We’re really pleased to be working with great local companies like Master Cobbler and ensuring they can thrive and grow at the centre. The new store looks great and we wish Paul and his team all the very best in their new location.”

The Five Valleys project is headed up by the retail property specialists Dransfield Properties Ltd and is part funded by GFirst LEP. The Sheffield based retail property company bought the shopping centre last summer and started work on the phased transformation of the centre – including a rebrand of the former Merrywalks name.
