Five Valleys, Stroud

Welcome to Five Valleys Shopping Centre! We are in the heart of Stroud in Gloucestershire, a beautiful market town which was named the Sunday Times best place to live in the UK in 2021.

About Five Valleys

Over the last five years our centre has undergone a major transformation, turning a tired and unloved shopping centre into a brand new retail and leisure destination in the heart of the town. A true recycling and renewal project - powered by a lot of love and some great design. The new Five Valleys has attracted a host of national and independent businesses with a line up including fashion, health and beauty and dining out – there's even a cinema and a bowling alley!

The fresh new look and layout at the centre also includes our stunning indoor market which is home to an eclectic mix of fantastic local artisan traders. Next door to the centre's King Street entrance is a new Medical Centre which houses a range of primary care services as well as physio and podiatry. The town's library will also be opening here later this year. Keep an eye on the news section for regular updates from the Five Valleys team!

Sustainability

Here at Five Valleys we work hard to make sure we not only create a lovely environment for our shoppers but that we're responsible in our approach to the environment around us and we do everything we can to take care of the planet.

Our green initiatives here at the centre include electric car charging points and good public transport links as well as LED lighting which is all on timers. We also work hard on our recycling policy and manage to recycle and repurpose on average 90-95% of centre waste using the on-site bailers.

Over 17 tonnes was
recycled in 2023

Our centre is undergoing a comprehensive redevelopment programme and has recently introduced solar panels to the roof of the Medical Practice which should lead to 10,205kg of CO2 emissions being avoided each year. A ground-breaking 50KW hybrid air source heat pump system which converts air moisture into heating and cooling for the building was also fitted to the building meaning zero carbon is used.

Traders within the centre's Indoor Market are also making several efforts to reduce their impact as much as possible by segregating waste responsibly and reducing food waste to an absolute minimum by employing careful food preparation techniques and repurposing where possible.

Knights Artisan Butchers practise this with any leftover meat repurposed for their natural dog food, which is extremely popular. The Artisan Baker prides itself on being a member of the Too Good To Go initiative which offers a back-up option for surplus pastries, loaves and cakes ensuring these items do not go to waste.
