JoJo Maman Bébé launches recycling initiative From A Mother To Another for their sixth year running

6 March 2020

With over four million children living in poverty in the UK, JoJo Maman Bébé have launched their recycling charity initiative From A Mother A To Another for a sixth year.

All 93 of JoJo’s Boutiques, including the Five Valleys store, will be collecting donations of preloved children’s clothes from 2nd – 22nd March.

The 2020 From a Mother to Another campaign aims to support thousands of children across the UK and Ireland by working with foodbanks in The Trussell Trust’s network and other baby banks. In doing so, the initiative which began in 2015, has prevented approximately thirty tonnes of clothing waste from reaching landfill, significantly reducing the strain of disposable fashion on the environment.

Customers are asked to donate their children’s preloved clothing (aged 0m-6yrs) by putting together complete outfits sorted by size, sex and season and taking them to one of JoJo’s 93 stores. Last year’s From a Mother to Another campaign recycled around five tonnes of clothing, which was made up into beautiful packs, each containing two to three complete outfits. These were distributed to over thirty baby & food banks who support a shocking number of families living below the poverty line.

This initiative is part of JoJo’s B Corp ethos, putting people and the planet before profit. For full details of how to donate visit www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/famta

Laura Tenison MBE, founder & CEO of JoJo has said “Finding practical solutions to problems is part of the JoJo DNA. Saving clothing from landfill and helping those who have crossed the fine line between coping and desperation just makes sense. Due to the rise of demand in the UK, we will concentrate our efforts on helping our local communities through the initiative.”
