South East Asian Street food on the menu at Five Valleys

15 March 2021

The best of South East Asian street food will be served up by the latest fantastic food trader which is due to open at Five Valleys Market in Stroud on Friday (March 19th)

Bao Ma will bring a fusion of flavours inspired by the famous Hawker Centres of Singapore where the owner Ting Ting Mokume grew up. Ting and her talented team are launching a menu that is fresh using high quality ingredients, with a distinctive confident use of spices.

Inspired by Singapore’s melting pot of eclectic and diverse culinary culture, the new Bao Ma stall will showcase some of those tantalising, moreish and punchy flavours of the region.

Tasty treats such as satay chicken, 48-hour braised, locally sourced free range pork belly served in fluffy steamed buns and  Home-made sauces will be served up in a stunning, traditional Singaporean colonial style setting.  The menu features both meat and vegan options – some with a spicy kick.

Ting and her team are putting the finishing touches to their new unit this week ready to welcome customers this Friday. Bao Ma can be found opposite the seating area at Five Valleys and next to La Cantina, joining a great line up of artisan and food to go traders.

Ting, who also runs the award-winning Cirencester café Temple Mama, said: “I am really excited to be opening my new venture here at the Five Valleys Market and I’m looking forward to introducing our menu to our customers.

The depth and diversity of Singapore’s food scene is phenomenal where fusion of flavours knows no bounds and that is what we are creating here at Bao Ma – taste explosion and a snippet of global cuisine in a bao”

The Five Valleys Market has continued to thrive and grow throughout the lockdown and once restrictions lift the shopping centre team are looking forward to re-introducing the seating area and their diary of regular events.

Centre Manager Dionne Moore, said: “We are really proud of how the market is growing here at Five Valleys and we’re so pleased to be welcoming Bao Ma, another great trader, to the line-up.”
