Viva Los Cubanos! Stroud’s taste of Havana re-opens at Five Valleys
16 July 2025
There’s a fiesta of flavours cooking at Five Valleys – as Los Cubanos has officially opened the doors to its vibrant new home in the heart of Stroud’s popular Food Hall.
Bringing the sizzling spirit of Havana to Gloucestershire, Los Cubanos’ new purpose-built unit now sits proudly alongside a colourful new bar area, serving up signature mojitos, Cuban cocktails, and an irresistible party vibe.
This exciting move marks a relocation for one of the Food Hall’s most recent arrivals – and it’s already proving a big hit with Food Hall regulars.
Los Cubanos has moved from the unit next to The Artisan Baker to a new purpose built stall next to the seating area, in the heart of the busy Food Hall.
Owners Alexis Medina and H Plewis are thrilled to welcome customers to their new space, where they continue to serve their much-loved Cuban menu, packed with flavour, fun, and flair.
Alexis said: “We’re so excited to be in our new home! We’ve created a place that’s full of energy and soul – just like Cuba – and we’re here and ready to serve up some incredible food, refreshing cocktails, and good vibes to everyone who visits.”
The new Los Cubanos menu includes Alexis’ signature Cuban sandwiches as well as Bistec de Res, Pollo ala Plancha and Cerdo Asado. Local beers and a fabulous cocktail menu are also served in the bar area.
The launch is being celebrated on Friday evening (July 18th) with Cuban sounds from DJ Canet from 5pm-8pm.
The re-opening of Los Cubanos is part of a series of wider improvements to the Five Valleys Food Hall this summer, including a major expansion of the Artisan Baker - one of its original traders. The award-winning bakery has unveiled its expanded café and bakery and is launching a new brunch and lunch menu. A new large screen TV has also been installed in the upgraded seating area.
Erica Malpass, Centre Manager at Five Valleys, said:
“Los Cubanos brings something really special to the Food Hall – and the new bar area is really going to be a hit with our evening and weekend visitors. With The Artisan Baker’s expansion and the changes to the seating area, we’re continuing to invest in what makes Five Valleys so unique: great food, great people, and a fantastic space.”
The Food Hall and Market opened five years ago at Five Valleys and has a great range of cuisines from around the world, including Thai, Indian, Japanese, and French patisserie – all under one roof.
